Omniprove helps client achieve the first transition assessment to TickITplus Foundation Level
Omniprove has been working with Nexor in developing their processes and practices using the new TickITplus scheme and just before Christmas Nexor successfully became the first company to transition from TickIT to TickITplus Foundation level. Nexor had already been looking at the CMMI model as the basis of improvements but found the TickITplus scheme a good interim step that merged the good practices of TickIT auditing with the benefits of a capability assessment approach. Their initial engagement involved conducting a gap analysis and review of the existing processes against the TickiTplus processes. Nexor selected the Systems and Software Development and Maintenance Scope Profile which was considered the best fit for them. Omniprove provided guidance on the interpretation of the TickITplus requirements to allow the organisational PRM (Process Reference Model) to be produced by Nexor.
The transition assessment was undertaken by LRQA (Lloyds Register Quality Assurance) following a successful PRM review. This assessment is being used as the pilot for UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Services) to accredit the TickITplus scheme for LRQA.
Steve Kingan (CEO) of Nexor states "I am delighted that Nexor have successfully achieved certification against the TickITplus Scheme. This achievement is a testament not only to the staff at Nexor, but also to the major contribution that Omniprove, and in particular Dave Wynn, made in guiding us. As an SME, Nexor had been struggling to establish a meaningful capability and process maturity programme that served the business and was affordable. Omniprove were a breath of fresh air, pragmatic and direct with their advice, and what appeared to be the search for the Holy Grail rapidly became part of business as usual, and of our continuous improvement programme."
Nexor's senior management has already indicated their further commitment to continue the process improvement journey through to higher levels of maturity and this maintains Nexor's and Omniprove's direct involvement and adoption of the new TickITplus scheme.
